From the time I was a teenager reading Entrepreneur Magazine, I knew I wanted to build something of my own. My father owned the second largest printing shop in the state . Back in those pre internet days the local printer was the small business persons best friend for marketing. If you needed a business card or a flyer he was the go to guy. Post cards, brochures, mailers and door hangers. that's what local marketing was all about back in those days, and that example stuck with me — the pride of serving local business customers and building something from the ground up. By twenty, I had started my first business in carpet cleaning. Not long after, I spent a few years working as a plumber before becoming a licensed plumbing contractor and running my own successful service company for more than twenty years.

Through it all, one thing never changed — I loved the marketing side the most. Getting the phone to ring, turning new leads into loyal customers, finding and leveraging better and more profitable ways to grow a business constantly fascinated me.
